Smart Recycling
CONWAY — Smart Recycling will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Central Arkansas’ Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center, 201 Donaghey Ave. A recycling educator will discuss acceptable items and current trade news and answer sanitation questions. Child-Abuse Prevention Training
CONWAY — Stewards of Children: Child Abuse Prevention Training will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the University of Central Arkansas’ Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center, 201 Donaghey Ave. This free session includes a twopart DVD presentation with commentary from sexual-abuse survivors, experts in the field and concerned adults. QuickBooks Payroll Workshops
RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will offer two QuickBooks Payroll workshops at Arkansas Tech University: from 9 a.m. to noon for QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise users; and from 1-4 p.m. for those using the cloud-based version of QuickBooks (Simple Start, Essentials or Online Plus). CONWAY — The Conway Regional Women’s Council will sponsor its annual In Her Honor Women’s Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center, 700 Salem Road. The Conway Regional Health System and vendors from the community will provide a variety of health-and-wellness services, such as blood cholesterol, glucose and bloodpressure checks; breast exams; mammography scheduling; appointments with providers in the Conway Regional primarycare network; and information on various topics and services. RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Tech University Department of Agriculture will host its 36th annual spring plant sale both days at the Tech Greenhouses on the north side of the ATU campus. The sale will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Signs will direct customers to the greenhouses, at 380 W. Harrell Drive. ONGOING M.J. Hickey Pool Passes and Parties
RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department will sell individual pool passes for the M.J. Hickey Pool for $75 each beginning May 1. Reservations for private M.J. Walk in the Woods 5K PETIT JEAN MOUNTAIN — The Petit Jean Mountain Extension Homemaker’s Club will sponsor a Walk in the Woods 5K on May 4 atop Petit Jean Mountain to benefit the efforts of foster care at Morrilton’s 29:11 Promise House. Registration will be at 9 a.m. at the swimming-pool parking lot. This is a familyfriendly route along the paved and relatively flat CCC Hike & Bike Trail.
