JOHN WILLIAM BAILEY of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, May

19, 2019 at the age of 66. He was born on November 15,

1952 in Jackson, Tennessee to his late parents,

William Hampton and Norreen

M. Cassidy Bailey. John graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineerin­g in 1975 and a master’s degree in Structural Engineerin­g in 1977.

John spent the majority of his profession­al career working in the constructi­on industry focused on steel fabricatio­n and erection. He acted as the Chief Operating Officer of Havens Steel Company in Kansas City, MO for 14 years before becoming the President of Prospect Steel in Little Rock, AR in 2000. He proudly served on the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Steel Constructi­on and the Central Fabricator­s Associatio­n. As a result of his contributi­ons to structural engineerin­g, John received the Outstandin­g Alumnus Award from the University of Tennessee Department of Civil and Environmen­tal Engineerin­g in 2000 and was inducted as a member of their inaugural Hall of Fame class in 2017.

John was an avid, if admittedly average, golfer. He forged many friendship­s on the courses at Chenal Country Club, where he was a member. He enjoyed watching sports and was an enthusiast­ic fan of the UT Volunteers and Kansas City Chiefs. John was a dedicated father who enjoyed beating his sons in pool and losing to them in pinball. He was excited to get to spend time with his young grandson who knew him as “Granddaddy.”

John leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Marilyn Jane Bailey; sons Andrew Craft Bailey and his wife, Amy and their son, Aidan of New York City, N.Y., Daniel Hampton Bailey of Tampa, Fla. and Patrick William Bailey of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; and sister, Linda Herring and her husband Bartley of Memphis, Tenn.

Violet was a Christian her whole life and attended Indianhead Lake Baptist Church. She was very active in the community and worked at the polling booth in Sherwood for many years. She retired from the Pulaski County school system.

She is survived by daughter, Gwen B. Books and husband Keith of Cabot; son, J. Marcus Begley and wife Connie of Fairfield Bay; five grandchild­ren, Hayne, Avery, Bowie, Kathryn and Austin; and 1 great-granddaugh­ter, Addison.

Homer. Rick served as a volunteer fireman for the Gravel Ridge Volunteer Fire Department from the time he was 16 years old until his retirement in 1996. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone who was in need.

KIMBERLY ANN KONECNY MULLEN, 54, of Little Rock passed away Monday, May

20, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Kim was born a daughter of the delta on

June 5, 1964 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to

Sam and Cathy Konecny. A graduate of Hazen High School, she received an education degree from the University of Arkansas Little Rock and a Master’s of Public Administra­tion from Arkansas State University. Kim was a lifelong Democrat, advocate for children and the less fortunate, teacher, and served under Senator Dale Bumpers, Governor Jim Guy Tucker, Senator Blanche Lincoln and Governor Mike Beebe. Kim worked with many boards and associatio­ns including Women and Children First and Court Appointed Special Advocates. Kim was a devout Catholic and loved her Lord. She was loyal and a teacher by her example. Teaching us by her faith, her love of family, Arkansas and country.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Sam Konecny and brothers, Kirk Konecny and Kenny Joe Konecny. –––––❖––––– HEBER SPRINGS — Richard Lee Rogers the son of L. Alvie Rogers and Georgia Mae Lee Rogers was born in San Antonio, Texas, on March 17, 1940 and passed away in Conway, Arkansas on May 19, 2019 at the age of 79 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs and was active in the Men’s Ministry of the church. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. He enjoyed his family, his church family and friends, loved people, the outdoors and the Razorbacks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Georgia Mae Rogers. Survivors are his wife, Leah Storey Rogers of Heber Springs, daughter, Rhea Lana Riner and husband Dave of Conway, Arkansas, son, Richard Rogers and wife Jennifer of Russellvil­le, Arkansas and daughter, Ashley Shaver Noland and husband Heath of Northwest Arkansas. He is also survived by grandchild­ren Rebekah Hall, Ben Riner, Leah Riner, Ryan Rogers, Lauren Bryan, Erin Rogers, Sheridan Rogers, Jordan Rogers, Cameron Rogers, Titus Shaver, Audra Shaver, Justus Shaver and Annelise Shaver and one great granddaugh­ter Lana Lynn Hall.

West. Charles was also preceded in death by his son, Randall West; and two sisters.

Charles devoted his life to his family. Although it was hard work Charles enjoyed working with wood as a carpenter for 47 years. In his off time he enjoyed growing a garden each year and going to the dirt track races but most of all, he enjoyed helping other people. Charles had a huge heart for anyone in need. He will be missed by many friends and family members.
