SPRINGHILL, Fla. — Nancy Virginia Moody, age 92, a former resident of Searcy, Arkansas, and a member of Kensett United Methodist Church passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019, in Springhill, Florida.

Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgar Moody; her parents Luecenthia and Victor Nelson; two brothers, Bill Nelson and Victor Nelson; and a sister, Rita Bullard.

Virginia is survived by two sons, Larry D. Moody (Kathryn) of Osage Beach, Missouri, and William (Bill) Moody (Cherie) of Springhill, Florida. Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy Smith of Newport, Arkansas; and a brother, Dean Nelson of Houston, Texas; as well as grandchild­ren Starla Harper (Scott), Shelley Olschefski (Michael), Melissa Barroso (J.R.), Paige Moody, Kristin Gimeno (Justin), and Jordan McClusky; and great-grandchild­ren, Cole and Carson Harper, Landry, Sydney and Riley Olschefski, Tory, Kyle and Elli Barroso, and Truet Gimeno.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16th, at 10 a.m. at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, August 16th, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Searcy McEuen. NORMAL, Ill. — Patty Thomas Rettig, 91, of Normal, and formerly of Little Rock, Ark.; Cary, Ill.; and Sarasota, Fla., died Sunday (Aug. 4, 2019). Born in Little Rock to Tommye and Ralph Anderson Thomas, she married Raymond Rettig in Little Rock on Aug. 24, 1956, after attending the University of Arkansas and working for the IRS and her uncle, Herbert L. Thomas Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Warine Thomas Bailey. She is survived by son, Rick Rettig, Palatine; daughter, Kathy Spence, Normal; grandsons, Timothy Spence and Hardy and Sutton Rettig; as well as beloved nieces and nephews, Christy Bailey Chilcott, Frank A. Bailey Jr., Sandra Rettig Tagliavia, Michael Rettig and Kevin Rettig.

Patty will join Ray in interment in the St. Martha’s Memorial Rose Garden, Sarasota.
