ANN MICHELLE BERRY was born on March 15, 1949 to Joe and Ann (Trostman) Cerney. On June 1, 1969 she married Michael L. Berry. They raised two sons, David and Chris, and one daughter, Annie Beth.

Ann had a passion for people. She served with her husband in ministry since 1978. She loved everyone and was truly an example of a godly woman. She taught Sunday school to children since 1985 and helped her husband in music and youth ministry. She led many children to know Jesus Christ.

Ann was preceded in death by her father, Joe, and her mother, Ann, and baby girl Berry. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael, and her three children, David Michael, Christophe­r Michael (Vanichaya), and Annie Beth (Jeff), her brother, Joe (Sue), six grandchild­ren, Ann Elizabeth Janssen (Tanner), Dylan Scott Cauley (Alexandra), Hannah Sue-Ann Benton (Colby), Hope Elizabeth Cauley, Isabella Leigh Cauley, and Patrick Christophe­r Berry, and two great-grandchild­ren, Peyton Ann Janssen and Evelyn Marie Cauley.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 4th from 6-8 p.m. at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107), with funeral service on Saturday, 11 a.m., October 5, at 47th Street Baptist Church. Mrs. LENA MAE BROADWAY, age 82, of Little Rock, formerly of Moro, AR passed away on September 27, 2019. Born January 20, 1937. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church #4 in Little Rock at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at College Station. JOHN EARL ELLISON, 72, of Little Rock Arkansas, came to visit this earth on July 18, 1947 and returned to his Heavenly Father on September 29, 2019.

He started his career as an enlisted soldier with the United States Army and served two tours in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Ultimately his military career led him to retire as a Sergeant from the Army National Guard. He also worked for the Central Arkansas Healthcare System for many years and then began another career as a long-haul truck driver, which became his passion. He was a faithful deacon during his tenure at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Cleo Nellum, Sr.; he served faithfully in many capacities at Covenant Faith Praise and Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor James and Brenda Jefferson. The Lord led him to unite with New Faith church family under the leadership of Pastor Izah Broadus.

He served many years as the Neighborho­od Associatio­n President, where he influenced positive changes within his community. He also graduated from the Little Rock Citizen’s Police Academy and remained active as an alum of the Associatio­n. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Prince Hall Affiliated and a long term member of the Heavenly Riders Motorcycle Club.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John/Julia Ellison Brewer, one brother, Joseph Ellison, and a son, Lonnie Charles Ellison. He is survived by his beloved wife Betty J. Ellison of 45 Blessed years, two daughters, Teresa Luster of Shannon Hills, Arkansas, Jonicia (Marcus) Mabry of Rogers, Arkansas, son, Richie Ellison of Bay Point, California; two brothers, James (Pamela) Ellison, Billy Ellison, four sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Smith, Vernita James-Greene, Juanita Adams and Pauline Shipp; sister-in-law, Frenchie (Joseph) Ellison; three grandchild­ren, Nikolas D. Wilbert, Frank Lewis Luster, Tierra C. Luster, and two great-grandchild­ren, Nikolas Jr. and Nikiyah Wilbert; A host of

cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

CLEO VANCEL (VAN) GODFREY, 94, of Little Rock, passed away September 29, 2019. He was born September 26, 1925 in Bearden, Arkansas, to the late Charles and Mable “Williams” Godfrey.

Van graduated from Hampton High School in 1944. Graduated from Little Rock Junior College in 1957. He retired from Chicopee and Johnson and Johnson, in North Little Rock, after 37 years. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Van was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and Razorback fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 52 years, Patricia Godfrey; daughter, Tina Godfrey; and six sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Godfrey; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a special thanks to his physicians, Dr. David Jones and Dr. Thomas Cain for keeping him healthy for so many years. The Staff at Briarwood Rehabilita­tion. BEVERLY ELAINE (SCOTTY) KNIGHT of Little Rock, Ark. was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on October 18, 1938 to Gilbert and Mildred Knight. She passed away October 2, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Beverly’s life was marked by serving and loving, including missionary work in Africa, triage-war-time nursing in Afghanista­n-Pakistan, nurse practition­er work in California immigrant communitie­s, inner city areas of Detroit, and the rural communitie­s of Northwest and Delta regions of Arkansas. Throughout her life Beverly loved and empowered many a struggling individual, providing shelter, money, resources, and most of all, her friendship. Beverly was fiercely fun-loving, passionate, over-generous, and maddingly yet endearingl­y stubborn. She was a lover of Jesus and all things spiritual. She loved books and music and rousing discussion­s with her many friends and family. Beverly loved to tell stories. Beverly loved to dance.

Awaiting her in heaven are her parents and brother, Rodney. She leaves behind family members and relatives who will miss her sorely: children, JoBeth, GibAnn (Dennis), and John (Amy); siblings, Sue (Ronnie) and Gib; grandchild­ren, Anya (Gabriel), Andrew (Amber), Hanna (Corinne), and Gibson; great-grandchild­ren, Nolan, Ethan, Nora, Micah, Aaron, Nathaniel, and Titus; nieces and nephews, Monica, Mark, Lauren, and Ryan.

NAUDITKA NASHAY LEWIS, 24, of Little Rock, departed this life September 29.

–––––❖––––– JOSEPH EDWARD SPRADLIN JR., 69, of Little Rock, passed away October 3rd, 2019 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. He was born in Dodge City, Kansas, attended school in Parsons & Wichita Kansas and graduated from Newman College of Nurse Anesthesia.

Joe was survived by his wife Jill, of 46 years; children, Tyson (Haley) Spradlin of Little Rock, Ark. & Broc (Megan) Spradlin of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is also survived by; parents Joseph & Rita Spradlin of Lawrence, Kan.; brothers, Don (Mary) Spradlin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mike (Sylvia) Spradlin of Olathe, Kan. He is blessed with four grandchild­ren.

Joe practiced as a CRNA in Arkansas for many years and was adored by everyone who knew him. He will be missed greatly for his kindness and humor.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, October 4th, from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. and a memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., both at Ruebel Funeral Home, Little Rock.
