MARGARET COOK, 94, of North Little Rock passed away on October 17, 2019. She was born on June 27, 1925, in Russellvil­le, Arkansas to the late Willard and Sarah Rollow. Margaret attended primary and secondary schools in Russellvil­le and graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1943. One year later, she graduated from Fern-Eaton Beauty College and served customers in Little Rock before opening her own shop and later helping to manage larger salons in North Little Rock.

Margaret was married for 62 years to the late Richard Cook, her high school sweetheart. They married in 1945 in California when he returned from his World War II service in the Pacific.

She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member and part of the turban ministry team. To many, she will be remembered for her commitment to the special education department.

To her family, she was Grandma, a woman of creative energy, ready to laugh and lend a hand. She delighted in visits from grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren and loved playing school, bingo and pool, doing art projects or just sharing a warm smile and loving hugs. Each day began with gratitude to God and ended with tireless hope that tomorrow would be even better.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandy Durham (Charlie) of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Christy Furcron (Cliff) of North Little Rock; four grandchild­ren, Erica Durham of Atlanta, Ga., Kristen Hargreaves (Darrell) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Angie Herndon (Trey) and Russ Furcron (Maria) of North Little Rock; three great-grandchild­ren, Durham Davis of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Ava Lile Furcron and Hope Herndon of North Little Rock; one sister, Janice Ruple of Sherwood, Ark.; and one brother, Jimmy Rollow (Patsy) of Clinton, Tenn.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20 from 4-6 p.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. GARY MCKINNEY DIXON 64, of Little Rock, passed away October 11, 2019. GAYOLA FERGUSON JAMES, 80, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019. She was born March 29, 1939, in Searcy, Arkansas, to Gaylord and Blanche Ferguson. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, retired from Pulaski Bank and Mortgage Company and enjoyed playing pool, bowling and dancing.

She is survived by her loving friend, and companion, James Dennis Hammons; and their three daughters, Denise Hammons Stewart, Teresa Hammons Stuart and Tanya Hammons Crews; eight grandchild­ren; and 24 great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; a granddaugh­ter, and a great-granddaugh­ter.

CLARA JEAN WILLIAMS, 60, of Little Rock, was called home Friday, October 11th. She was born October 25th, 1958, to James and Edith Williams in Marianna, Arkansas. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Gillian Missionary Baptist Church, graduated from Lee Senior High School, and attended Arkansas Baptist College before working throughout Little Rock at several companies, ending her career at De Wafelbakke­rs.

CABOT — John William Stanley II, (aka Jay John Buddha), 61, of Cabot, passed away October 17, 2019, at his home. He was born July 5, 1958, in Tachikawa, Japan, to the late Freddie Lee and Setsu Furuya Stanley. Mr. Stanley grew up in a military household and when he finished high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He worked for Ashland Chemical in Jacksonvil­le until 2000. In 2002, he went to work for Southwest Airlines. Mr. Stanley enjoyed artwork and wall murals, fishing, cooking and practical jokes. He loved life and cared for everyone. He was a great man and father.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joey Mahoney. Survivors include his wife, Janice Mahoney; children, Brandi Jo (Shane) Carver, Seath Andrew (Jammie) Mahoney and Charles Lee Stanley; five grandchild­ren, Austin Terry, Mack and Gabe Carver, Blain and Colton Mahoney and many friends.

CONWAY — Angela Hays Chronister was born on October 26, 1941, and was truly a fantastic person who was called home on October 15th. She was kind and outspoken, and everything in life she did in her own way.

Loved by all, she is survived by her siblings, Susie Bierbaum (Skip Lanier) and Butch Hays; children, Shannon Loyd and Bruce Chronister; grandchild­ren, Jon and Christa Loyd, Jacob Loyd, Kate Loyd, Stephen and Marissa Chronister, and Hayden Chronister; and great-granddaugh­ter, Pazleigh Chronister.

She was a member of the First Presbyteri­an Church, avid bridge player, and retired from the Conway School District after 30 years of teaching in 1999. She has a Master’s Degree in Education from the Arkansas State Teacher’s College (now UCA) where she was a T-stepper. Her favorite things in the world were the color purple, giraffes and her family, but she was best known for her sense of humor, wise cracking attitude, and ability to trip over the most benign of inanimate objects and somehow always remain unharmed. This ability earned her the nickname of Boomboom by her grandchild­ren and those that loved her the most. She loved animals and children, and donations to your local animal shelter, Heifer Internatio­nal and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in her honor would be greatly appreciate­d. In hopes of furthering medical research and eliminatin­g ovarian cancer, she graciously donated her body to the Genesis Foundation.

Her memorial will be held at the First Presbyteri­an Church in Conway, Ark., on October 25th at 3 p.m.

CONWAY — Tom Negus, 63, of Conway passed away October 17, 2019. He was born October 28, 1955, in Darlington, Wis., to the late William and Eleanor Negus. Tom loved fishing with his wife, woodwork projects and decorating for holidays. He worked as a car salesman for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gordon Canon.

Tom is survived by his wife, Brenda Negus; son, Chris Martin (Ann) of Greenbrier; daughter, Tonya Chatterton (Mike) of Rogersvill­e, Mo.; four grandchild­ren, Morgan Jones, Hunter Gould (Jami), Walker Martin and Brody Martin; sister, Tammy Negus; brothers, David Peebles and Donnie Jo Peebles; sister-in-law, Shirley Canon.

CRYSTAL SPRINGS — Tobias “Toby” Raphael Sarna, 90, of Crystal Springs, formerly of North Little Rock, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019. He was born August 9, 1929, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to John and Annie Sarna. He was a graduate of Catholic High School. He went to Cosmetolog­y school in Chicago and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He owned Toby Hair Styling Salon in Little Rock and was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed trips to Oaklawn.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth “Lisa” Guild (Paul); grandchild­ren, Kaitlin Bray and Allen Bray (Caitlin); sister, Rita Schnebelen; and dear friend, Barbara Lyons; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and mother of his children, Dorothy Sarna Higham; two brothers, Daniel and Clem Sarna; two sisters, Bridget Flake and JoAnn Rodriguez; and his son, John Sarna.

MONTICELLO — Kenneth Robert Dunn, 82, of Monticello, died peacefully Monday, October 14, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Little Rock surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 3, 1937 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Jay Harold and Edna May Barnett Dunn. He married Regina

Ann Hadley on December 27, 1963. They resided in Searcy, Ark. and Memphis, Tenn. before settling in Monticello, Ark. in 1977.

Ken served honorably in the US Navy for 3 years. He was a graduate of Harding University and obtained his MBA from Memphis State. After becoming a CPA, he owned his own business and ultimately spent over 18 years with Potlatch, Corp in Warren. He loved Harding and served as Alumni President and on the President’s Council for many years. He also loved his church family at the Monticello Church of Christ where he was a member for 42 years and served as an Elder for over six years.

Ken was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfathe­r. He would attend and support as many activities and sporting events of his daughters and grandchild­ren as possible, often traveling many miles and cheering louder than anyone else.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Beverly Smith, and one brother, Charles Dunn. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Regina of Monticello, his daughters Bonnie Hinrichs and husband Steve of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kerry Phillis and husband Peter of Mansfield, Texas and four grandchild­ren who were the lights of his world: Alex Hinrichs, Luke Phillis, Ashley Hinrichs and Chloe Phillis.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care Arkansas Baptist Medical Center and Hospice services provided to Ken during his stay and to Bradley County Home Health for the support provided over the last year.
