Jared Chatham scored a team-high 12 points to lead the University of Central Arkansas to a victory over Hendrix College at the Farris Center in Conway.

Hendrix took a 5-0 lead on a three-pointer by Seth Stanley and a Sean Comman jumper, but UCA got a Chatham layup with 13:26 left in the first half, giving the Bears a 6-5 lead. Brooks Cartwright hit a three-pointer with 10:47 left to give the Warriors an 8-6 lead, but Chatham hit two free throws to tie the game at 8-8 with 10:18 left. Collin Cooper’s layup with 10:08 left in the first half gave UCA the lead for good at 10-8.

The Bears shot 41.4% (24 of 58) from the floor, including 5 of 20 on three-pointers, and went 18 of 30 from the free-throw line. They outrebound­ed the Warriors 45-42, but the Warriors held an 11-8 edge on the offensive glass. Hendrix shot 26.7% (16 of 60) from the floor, including 6 of 28 on three-pointers, and made 13 of 19 free throws.

Eddy Kayouloud scored 11 points and Rylan Bergersen added 10 for Central Arkansas, which plays at Georgetown on Saturday and at No. 4 Duke on Tuesday. Stanley scored a game-high 16 points in the loss for Hendrix, while Comman and Carl Fitch added seven apiece.
