Bright the Night lights up LR Christmas season
The Downtown Little Rock Partnership lights up the downtown public Christmas tree during the third annual Bright the Night, 6 p.m. Monday at Capitol Plaza, Capitol Avenue and Main Street, Little Rock. Members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will play festive music to kick things off at 5:30. Santa Claus will be available for post-ceremony pictures; hot chocolate and cookies will be available.

Nick Jr. Live
Characters from cable network Nick Jr.’s animated series, including Bubble Guppies, PAW Patrol, Dora the Explorer, Shimmer and Shine, Blue’s Clues and You, Blaze and the Monster Machines and Top Wing, will be onstage in Nick Jr. Live! “Move to the Music,” 6 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, Robinson Center Performance Hall, 426 W. Markham St., Little Rock.

West Tennessee-based bluegrass band No Time Flatt — Patrick Cupples, bass and vocals; Kevin Wright, guitar and vocals; Becky Weaver, fiddle; Kevin Keen, mandolin and vocals; and Steve Moore, banjo and vocals — performs at 7 p.m. Monday at the Collins Theatre, 120 W. Emerson St., Paragould, part of Jonesboro public radio station KASU-FM, 91.9’s Bluegrass Monday series. Winning ‘Small Works’
Juror Jamie Adams, associate professor of art at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, has chosen the 39 works (no larger than 18-by-24 inches) by 36 Arkansas artists that will be part of the Arkansas Arts Council’s 2020 “Small Works on Paper” touring exhibition.
Adams, who reviewed nearly 300 works as part of his jury process, also picked seven works for cash purchase awards that will become part of the permanent “Small Works on Paper” collection:
