92, of Batesville passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020. He was born on September 28, 1927 in Yellville, Arkansas to George Nitiver Cavaness and Verna Monette (Pyle) Cavaness. George joined the Navy when he was 15 years of age and served during World War II. In his early years he loved to hunt; he enjoyed working on clocks, cooking and loved traveling the Continenta­l United States with his wife in their RV. He was a Civil Engineer for 70 years having owned his own business, Cavaness Rental and Engineerin­g, since 1975. As well he was a Mason and in his later years he enjoyed the computer.

Survivors include his son, George Clayton Cavaness (Sheri) of Batesville; three daughters, Beverly Sue Hill (Keith) of Batesville, Marilyn Kay Huck (Gene) of Sulphur, Louisiana and Georgia Candace Case (Jim) of Batesville; five grandchild­ren, William Wade Samec (Sherri), Matthew Patrick Samec (Chalanda), Crystal Michelle Collins Clairday (Sarah), Khara Danielle Cavaness and Ginger Beth Collier (Justin); five great-grandchild­ren, Ava Lillian Samec, Jordan Ella Samec, Braxton Wade Samec, Terry Lee Rose III and Kailee Paige Samec; sister, Eloise Williams of Harrison; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He parents; was preceded wife, Mary in Neva death Keeter by his Cavaness; two sisters, Helen Arlene McMindes and Betty Jean Liffiton.

A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 Home at Chapel Roller-Crouch in Batesville Funeral with Steve Smith officiatin­g. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. prior to the service.
