Closures starting on and around I-30 ramps

-

Crews taking geotechnical samples along Interstate 30 in Little Rock and North Little Rock will require daytime lane closings on freeway ramps and adjacent roads for parts of two weeks beginning Monday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

The geotechnical boring for design work on the 30 Crossing project will require moving lane closings in various areas between East Fourth Street in Little Rock and Riverfront Drive in North Little Rock daily through Feb. 4, weather permitting.

Four locations will have lane closings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

■ Northbound Rector Street, between East Fourth and Third Streets, left lane closed, Little Rock.

■ Eastbound Riverfront Drive, left-turn lane onto South Locust Street, North Little Rock.

■ Westbound Riverfront Drive at South Locust Street, right lane, North Little Rock.

■ Westbound I-30 exit ramp to Highway 10 (Cantrell Road), right shoulder, Little Rock.

Lane closings at two other locations are to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

■ Eastbound I-30 on-ramp at Arkansas 10, right lane closed, Little Rock.

■ Eastbound I-30 on-ramp at East Third Street, left shoulder closed, Little Rock.

Traffic will be controlled with construction barrels and signs, the department said.

The work is part of a project to improve a section of Interstate 30 between Interstate 40 in North Little Rock and Interstate 530 in Little Rock. The work includes replacing the Arkansas River bridge.
