Globetrotters scamper to 5 Arkansas locations
The Harlem Globetrotters’ 2019-20 “Pushing the Limits World Tour” includes five Arkansas stops:

The Globetrotters roster includes male players Big Easy Lofton, Hi-Lite Bruton, Hammer Harrison, Thunder Law, Bull Bullard and Cheese Chisholm and female players TNT Lister, Swish Sutton and Torch George.
After each game, in what promoters are calling “The Fifth Quarter,” Globetrotters will sign autographs and take photos with fans. The team will also bring back its popular pre-game “Magic Pass,” in which fans can come onto the court, meet their favorite Globetrotters for pictures and autographs and learn how to spin a ball on their finger. A limited number of $20 Magic Pass tickets are available 30 minutes before each game.
South African singers

Chamber ‘Images’
Members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will create “Musical Images” for the orchestra’s 2019-20 River Rhapsodies Chamber Music series, 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Great Hall at the Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.
The Quapaw String Quartet — Meredith Maddox Hicks and Charlotte Crsomer, violin; Timothy MacDuff, viola; David Gerstein, cello — will perform Tenebrae by Osvaldo Golijov.
Principal clarinet Kelly Johnson and principal harp Alisa Coffey will play Paul Reade’s Suite from The Victorian Kitchen Garden; Johnson will join violinists Hicks and Andrew Irvin, violist Katherine Williamson and cellist Stephen Feldman to perform Kinan Azmeh’s The Fence, the Rooftop, and the Distant Sea. And violinist Kiril Laskarov and pianist Jason Pennington-Saugey will play Edward Elgar’s Violin Sonata in e minor, op.82.

SoNA Carmina Burana
Soprano Heather Buck, tenor Jonathan Blalock, baritone Timothy LeFebvre, the SoNA Singers, the Bentonville High School Chamber Singers and the University of Arkansas Children’s Choir join the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and conductor Paul Haas for a performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, in Baum Walker Hall at Fayetteville’s Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Arkansas Public Theatre holds auditions for Meteor Shower by Steve Martin, 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Victory Theater, 116 S. Second St, Rogers. Auditions will be based upon readings from the script; an audition packet, including audition times, scenes, character descriptions and rehearsal schedule, is available for download at arkansaspublictheatre.org. Doors open at 6:30. Callbacks, if necessary, will take place Feb. 11. The play contains adult language and content and is recommended for mature audiences. Production dates are March 20-22 and 26-29.
