SAGINAW, Texas — Brigitte Leigh

-

(Slack) Rucker of Saginaw, Texas went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, in Fort Worth, surrounded by her loving family.

Brigitte Rucker was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 3, 1971 to Frank and Juanita Slack, the youngest of 3 girls and the baby of the family… adored by all. Brigitte graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock in 1990, with honors, and from the University Of Central Arkansas in December 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While at the University of Central Arkansas, Brigitte was an active member of several organizations and the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She met the love of her life, Jerry Rucker, exactly one week after graduating from college; their first date was on December 25, 1994. It was true love at first sight and Brigitte and Jerry were married in Little Rock on March 16, 1996. Brigitte moved to Fort Worth where Jerry worked in the administration of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. Living in the Fort Worth area they became members of the First Baptist Church of Saginaw.

Brigitte was an excellent communicator with others as well as being very good at trouble shooting computer problems. She worked at several different IT jobs after she moved to Fort Worth. From October 2001 until her death, Brigitte worked in the IT Department of the Tarrant County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (Adult Probation). This was her true calling, and she loved to learn new computer skills as well as assist individuals with their computer needs at work. Brigitte was always smiling and displayed great patience when helping others, especially her technology challenged husband. Brigitte loved computers, traveling, hiking in national parks, animals (especially dogs), spending time with her family, and working at the Tarrant County Community Supervision and Corrections Department. Brigitte and Jerry loved each other very much and were always supportive of each other. When someone told Brigitte that she could not do something, she was a determined individual and would overcome any obstacle to prove them wrong. Brigitte’s sense of adventure, humor, and positive attitude brightened everyone’s day and will be greatly missed. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, and adoring aunt. Visitation at Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, La.: Friday, 6-8 p.m. Service at New Sarepta Baptist Church, Sarepta, La.: Saturday, 2 p.m., interment following at Springhill Cemetery, in Springhill, Louisiana.
