FRED MORSE,

-

81, peacefully left us on January 14, 2020 at home.

He leaves his daughter, Catie (Morse) Saralegui; and her husband, Jorge Saralegui; his “chosen” daughter, Kristen (Terrel) Landsgaard; her husband Peter (Pete) Landsgaard; and their children, Michael, Mary Claret, Catherine, Peter, Joseph, Margaret, Eleanor (Ellie), and Stephen. He also leaves behind many, many dear friends.

Born in Hope, Arkansas, the son of Fred and Margaret Morse, he was a lifelong resident of Little Rock. He’s preceded in death by his parents, as well as his wife, Sue Collins Morse and his son, William Lawrence (Larry) Morse.

Fred had a long career with the family business – Collins & Company, selling insurance and commercial real estate as well as handling family trusts and estates. After graduating from Catholic High School in 1956, he attended Little Rock University, graduating in 1961, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He met his beloved wife, Sue (Collins) Morse, at LRU and they were married in 1961 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. Stationed at Fort Chaffee, he served in the U.S. Army in 1961-1962.

Fred was often quoted as having never met a stranger — just a friend he hadn’t met yet. And, he loved everyone he met. Family and friends often said that the reason his heart weakened later in life was that he loved too much and too hard. Fred brought joy to all he met. And, he will be missed by many people whose lives he touched. He also adored his dear dogs — Oscar, who died in April 2019, and his beloved Bandit. Both were rescue pups. So, memorial donations can be made to Jeff Tarpley Animal Rescue, Jeff Tarpley Rescue, 4107 Pecos Street, Texarkana, Texas 75503. 903-490-2959 www.jefftarpleyrescue.petfinder.com.

A celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m. January 27, 2020 in the chapel at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72205. ruebelfuneralhome.com.
