SPRINGDALE — Kay Lynne Gray

passed peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on January 22, 2020, in Fayetteville, Ark. Born Kay Lynne Cundiff on October 16, 1944, in Pratt, Kan., she was the youngest daughter of Howard and Florence Cundiff. She graduated from high school in Buhler, Kan., in 1962 and from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., with a degree in Elementary Education in 1966. She met Bill Gray while she was teaching outside Kansas City and they were married at his parents’ home in Brown Springs, Ark., on June 11, 1971. In 1973, she became a mother and thereafter dedicated herself to a career serving her family and raising two daughters. In the ’80s, after several years of seminary in Ft Worth, Texas, Bill and Kay served as missionaries to Guatemala for six years. After returning to the States in 1990, they settled back in Northwest Arkansas permanently. Kay was an avid crafter — she painted, sewed, quilted, scrapbooked, and created handmade cards. She loved to play with her grandchildren and they always came home covered in glue and markers and, sometimes, glitter.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ruby, and her husband Bill. She is survived by two daughters, Christi Parks and husband Stan of Springdale, and Jennifer Fox and husband Daniel of Siloam Springs, and five grandchildren, Gabriel Fox, Cale Fox, William Parks, Katie Parks, and Lauren Parks.

A service honoring Kay’s life will be held Saturday, January 25 at 1 p.m. at Fellowship Bible Church in Fayetteville, Ark. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time. A burial service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 27, at Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Malvern, Ark. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers.
