PANSY — Billy Gene (BG) Stewart,

89, of Pansy went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2020.

He was born July 18, 1930, in Herbine. He was preceded in death by his parents Allie and Mellie Stewart; two brothers, James and Kelly Stewart; and a sister Helen Neely.

Billy graduated from Rison High School and was a US Army Korean War veteran. He retired from Internatio­nal Paper Company in Pine Bluff after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Mill Creek Masonic Lodge and Prosperity United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Shirley Harper Stewart; his son Mike Stewart (Diana) of Pansy; two daughters, Kathy Davis (Paul) of Fayettevil­le, and Amy Womack (David) of El Dorado; Four grandchild­ren, Joshua and Katie Stewart, Wes Davis, Sara Primm; and five great-grandchild­ren, Emma Poe, Crew and Grady Davis, Hadley and Harper Primm; sister: Ailene (Jimmy) Taylor; and sister-in-law Becky Stewart.

The family would like to thank the staff of Southern Hills Cottages for their care and kindness over the last few months.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with funeral service beginning at 2 p.m., to be officiated by his nephew Wayne Jordan and pastor Boyd Savage, and internment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Active pallbearer­s: Josh Stewart, Wes Davis, Lee Stewart, Paul Rauls, Jerry Thomasson, Wade Morrison. Honorary pallbearer­s: Sonny Clark, Jimmy Taylor, David Womack, Paul Davis and Stormey Primm.
