John Nemeth will bare his soul at White Water
John Nemeth will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $10.
Nemeth, a Memphis-based soul and blues singer, leads a band he calls The Blue Dreamers, which recently released an album, Feelin’ Freaky, which was produced by Luther Dickinson of The North Mississippi Allstars.

The Fred Hersch Trio will perform at 8 p.m. today at South on Main in Little Rock. Tickets are $54, $52 and $35.
Hersch, a jazz pianist, leads a group with a 30-year history over five incarnations. The other members of the trio are John Hebert on bass and Eric McPherson on drums. The trio was voted No. 2 Jazz Group in the 2018 DownBeat Critics Poll.
Hersch wrote a memoir, Good Things Happen Slowly, published in September 2017.

Half Pint, 58, is a Jamaican reggae and dance hall musician who is from Rose Lane, a community that also produced Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Dennis Brown and Toots Hibbert.
Half Pint’s songs have been recorded by The Rolling Stones (“Winsome,” retitled “Too Rude”) and Sublime (“Loving.”) His songs have been used on the soundtracks of movies The Mighty Quinn and Mookie.
