SATURDAY

■ The Port City Blues Society presents Sound of Blues, featuring live Delta blues music, a blues discussion, blues jam session, artist meet-and-greet, cigar-box guitar making and blues history. The event is open to all ages, and admission is free. Performers include Marcus “Mookie” Cartwright, Carla Robinson and Bluesboy Jag. Sound of Blues will be at the Freedom and Blues Art Exhibit at the University of Arkansas in the Pine Bluff Business Support Incubator, 615 S. Main St., in Pine Bluff, from 1-5 p.m. Funded in part by a grant from Synergy Forum.

■ Paul Morphis, multi-instrument­alist and singer whose upbeat music is inspired by the Crossroad Festival, is to be the guest performing artist at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas’ monthly Live@Five performanc­e series. Compliment­ary alcoholic and nonalcohol­ic beverages will be served, and guests must be 21 years old or older to enter. Admission to this event, which is sponsored by M.K. Distributo­rs, is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.

MARCH 14

■ The Arts & Science Center of Southeast Arkansas will host Bob Scott from the Arkansas Archaeolog­y Survey for March Family FunDay from 1-3 p.m. at 701 S. Main St. in Pine Bluff. Admission is free and open to the public to view archaeolog­ical displays, hands-on activities and to visit with Scott about his work.

MARCH 14

■ Theatre Mask and Performanc­e Workshop, Saturdays from 1-3 p.m., will be held March 14, 21, 28, and April 4 at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas at 701 S. Main St. in downtown Pine Bluff. This is a free, four-week workshop for participan­ts ages 12 and up. Participan­ts must be registered and commit to attend all four sessions. The classes are: The Importance of Greek Masks; Creating a Character; It’s All in the Details; and Putting it Together.
