Reddies run away from Rangers

Anthony Lupardus powered in 15 points and Chris Owens followed with 14 more as Henderson State University won its fourth game in a row by strolling past Northweste­rn Oklahoma State 91-72 at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphi­a.

Mike Fofana had 11 points, while Rel Johnson and Tanner Hamilton scored 10 points apiece for the Reddies (19-7, 14-6), who held a 16-0 advantage in fast-break points to help sweep the season series.

Jaedon Whitfield had 22 points and A.J. Jones ended with 18 for the Rangers (8-18, 5-15).

In other Great American Conference basketball games Saturday, Romio Harvey had 20 points and Davis Morgan scored 15, but it wasn’t enough for Harding University (8-18, 3-17) in its 76-59 loss to Oklahoma Baptist (18-8, 13-7) at Rhodes-Reeves Field House in Searcy. Rashad Lewis scored 23 points and Harrison Stoddart had 15 points for Oklahoma Baptist, which trailed 39-37 at halftime but outscored Harding 39-20 in the second half. … Jhonathan Dunn pumped in 16 points and Nick Davis contribute­d 15 points for Southern Nazarene (21-7, 15-5) in its 79-68 road victory over Arkansas Tech University at Tucker Coliseum in Russellvil­le. Manny Dixon scored 14 points and Micah Speight had 13 for the Crimson Storm. Kevin McNeal tallied 18 points and R.J. Glasper scored 17 points for the Wonder Boys. Devante Foster also landed in double figures for Arkansas Tech with 15. … Adam Dworsky delivered 20 points for Southeaste­rn Oklahoma State (20-7, 14-6) as it held on to beat the University of Arkansas at Monticello (19-10, 11-9) 73-71 at Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello. Justin Slocum finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Boll Weevils, who had a shot to win it but K.J. Lesure’s three-pointer at the buzzer was just off. Marcus Gilbert came up with 14 points while Lesure and Austin Hardy each had 11. … Aaron Lucas’ jumper with two seconds left gave Southern Arkansas University (13-13, 10-10) a thrilling 76-75, overtime victory over East Central (Okla.) at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center in Magnolia. Jalen Brooks scored a team-high 18 points and Dodge Brown had 16 more for the Muleriders. Devante Brooks ended with 12 points and Lucas had 10. Cameron Talley had 22 points and Tyler Arnold supplied 16 points for the Tigers.
