BRYANT — Mr. William A. Ragon, Jr., 96,

of Bryant passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020. He was born June 28, 1923 to parents William A. Ragon, Sr. and Imogene McConnell Ragon.

Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Medical Corpsman in the South Pacific, achieving the rank of Sgt. He later attended the College of the Ozarks and North Texas University, receiving a Master’s Degree. He went on to work for 30 years with the Arkansas Employment Security Division. He was a caring and sharing person, helping anyway that he could.

Bill had many interests that he enjoyed – he loved art, especially painting with watercolor­s. He also loved music and watching football. He was active in his church and was a longtime member of the Central Church of Christ. He cared deeply about others, helping to collect snacks and take them to Family Home in Little Rock. He was a member of Toastmaste­rs and a dedicated, 60 year member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marnette Branch Ragon of Little Rock; daughters Kim Colclasure and her husband Larry of Benton and Brenda Youngblood and her husband, Dickie, of Benton; and five grandchild­ren and eight great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., on Monday, February 24 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Rd., NLR followed by funeral services at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bro. Dennis Mitchell will be officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
