Larry Root, a private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial, was named a Best-inState Wealth Advisor by Forbes magazine.

Rickea Hansberry has been promoted to client associate for Merrill Lynch in Little Rock.

Mark Forbis has been appointed to the Citizens Bank board of directors.

UTILITIES

Brandon McNew, a Conway Corp. service technician, has earned his certificat­ion as a CISCO certified networking profession­al.

TECHNOLOGY

Brian Cotten and Tristan Wilkerson have joined the Little Rock Technology Park’s board of directors, replacing Kevin Zaffaroni and CJ Duvall, who both retired from the board in late 2019. Tron Clark has joined CTEH as a response management consultant.

EDUCATION

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has announced four new members who will serve three-year terms on the UA Little Rock Foundation Fund Board. They are: Kim Broadway, Paulette Lawson, Heather Nelson and Billy Roehrenbec­k. Officers for 2020 include Sean Glancy, fundraisin­g committee chairman, Marcia Smith, program committee chairman, and Ryan Holder, membership committee chairman.

Karleah Harris and Jane Andayi Opiri have been appointed assistant professors for the Department of Human Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

LAW

Hayden McCormick and Taylor Oberg were recently hired by the McIlroy, Keen and Goodman, LLP firm. Rose Law Firm has announced the additions of Peter Kumpe and David Powell as counsel for the firm.

MEDICINE

Paula Mercer of Lonsdale has been awarded national board certificat­ion by the American Associatio­n of Bariatric Counselors.

Lisa Smith has been named director of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Library.

James Graham, M.D., a longtime educationa­l leader in the UAMS College of Medicine, has been named the college’s executive associate dean for academic affairs.

Scott Dickson, M.D., residency program director for the UAMS Northeast Regional Campus, was invested Feb. 6 in the Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, George K. Mitchell, M.D., Endowed Chair in Primary Care.

CHI St. Vincent Infirmary has appointed Nisa Trenthem as director of the emergency department in Little Rock.

NONPROFIT

John Bethel has been appointed to the board of directors for the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance.
