ENGLAND — Betty Jean Houser Dorsey,

89, of England, Arkansas, died Monday, February 17, 2020. Betty was born on July 27, 1930, to Houston and Jestine McCalister Houser. She was a member of the England First Baptist Church and in prior years worked for Godsey Motor Company and the England Dryer as a secretary and bookkeeper. Most recently she had been secretary for the England Area Chamber of Commerce.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, James W.” Bud” Dorsey, Jr.; one brother: Carroll Houser; two sisters: Dorothy Wilson and Patsy Duncan. Betty is survived by her son Jimmy and his wife Lisa of England; four sisters Jewel Miller and Judy Hocutt both of Furlow, Barbara Hill of Lonoke, and Regina Cox of Rivermont, California; three grandchild­ren: Amanda and Todd Melton of Maumelle, Arkansas, Matt and Kimberly Dorsey of England, Arkansas, and Blake and Brittany Dorsey of Benton, Arkansas; five great-grandchild­ren: Taylor, Brooks, Lola and Zeke Melton and Audrey Dorsey.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roller England Funeral Home (501) 8423939. A celebratio­n of Betty’s life will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at a later date in Mulberry Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Tommy Braswell and the entire staff at Cavalier Nursing and Rehab for the loving care that was extended to Betty and her family during her time with them.
