OKOLONA — Betty Jo Moorman,

age 90, of Okolona, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020. She was born October 30, 1929, to the late Buren and Clara Deaton Hardin. Betty was a Nazarene and attended the Okolona United Methodist Church.

Betty married Lemuel Moorman on August 9, 1948. She enjoyed working outdoors, reading, history and along with her husband, was a caretaker for the Okolona Cemetery. She was an amazing piano player, giving piano lessons and playing at her church for many years. Her love of music was instilled into all generation­s of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lemuel Moorman; her son, David Moorman; one brother, Richard Hardin, and one sister, Marietta Shepherd.

Survivors are her children, Kathy (Jim) Nickels of Sherwood, Stan (Cyndi) Moorman of Okolona and Marian (Deryl) Baumgardne­r of Gurdon, daughter-in-law Coleen Moorman of North Little Rock; eight grandchild­ren, Kris (Keith) Smith, Jeremy (Shada) Baumgardne­r, Carey (Jensee) Moorman, Davin (Kristin) Moorman, Marci (Robert) Eoff, Melissa (Frank) Smith, Justin (Mallory) Nickels and Rachel (Tommy) White; 21 great-grandchild­ren and one sister, Nancy Smith of Yellville, Arkansas.

Visitation will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 17th, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphi­a. Services will follow at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Ron Grigsby officiatin­g. Burial will be in Okolona Cemetery.
