What we do not see

-

All hail the con-mandarin-chief who not long ago advised us to not believe what we see, implying we should believe only him. But truly, we only see what we believe. Much discourse has concerned this and left us with such concepts as cognitive dissonance and perceptual blindness. You see, we see with our brains rather than our eyes. If you don’t believe it, you won’t see it. Belief begets faith, which is believing in what cannot be seen. Eric Hoffer observed that absolute faith corrupts as absolutely as absolute power. Faith communities may want to give pause.

Seems our Golden Lord has created a new doctrine: Not-see-ism. We will not-see the depths of corruption, mendacity, duplicity and amorality of an administration run like organized crime. We will not-see the calculated creation of chaos and mayhem in the active subversion of the Constitution. We will not-see the real threats to national security and the slide toward Putin-styled oligarchy. We will not-see the environmental destruction and increasing poisoning of air, land, water and food especially affecting children, grandchildren, and the unborn. We will not-see the noose of slavery tightening around our lives. We will not see the problem of chanting at rallies, “We will not-see, not-see, not-see!” All hail the con-mandarin-chief. You won’t believe what will be seen.

Some teach that advance of the spirit comes with learning to see more with the heart. What will it take?
