Aid to health workers

-

Clinicians, nurses, first responders, and support staff are running out of personal protective equipment (PPE) around the state, and they are desperate for more supplies. Without proper PPE, these health-care workers treating patients with covid-19 are at high risk. A lack of PPE results in these front-line workers placing their own lives, their families’ lives, and their patients’ lives on the line.

I am part of a group of medical students from UAMS working with MedSupplyDrive, a nationwide effort to redirect unused PPE from local businesses, labs, and individuals to hospitals, emergency rooms, and clinics. We ask in this challenging time if you would consider donating any of the following unused supplies to a local hospital that could benefit from additional PPE. A donation on your part would be part of an unprecedented effort to support health-care professionals in your local area. The benefits of your contributions would be immediately appreciated in your community.

Our organization can complete the delivery for you—delivering your donation to where it is needed most in Arkansas.

Equipment to donate: Surgical masks, N95 masks, other NIOSH-approved respirators, face shields, bandanas, non-latex gloves, medical/ surgical gowns, plastic rain ponchos, bleach/bleach wipes, hand sanitizer, and Tyvek and hazmat suits.

We understand that you may want to hold on to supplies during the quarantine. Still, by donating these resources now, we can help protect healthcare workers and patients and slow the spread of the virus in high-risk hospital facilities. On behalf of doctors, nurses, and health-care professionals around the nation, thank you for your generosity! We hope to hear from you soon.
