Estimated Percentage of Hospital Beds Needed
Projections from the Harvard Global Health Institute reference only beds that are available assuming hospitals operate at normal capacity. Arkansas health officials said most projections may be too severe, failing to account for Arkansas' rural nature. Arkansas Health Department Director Nate Smith said he wants to prepare for 40% of Arkansans becoming infected within six months.
