Rethink philosophy

-

Are you convinced yet? After three years of watching serious missteps taken in the governing of the country, it would seem that it is in our best interests to look at the results of the last election and seriously consider a change in our voting philosophy.

The national deficit has exploded at a seemingly unimaginable rate, our diplomacy mechanism has been decimated, and relations with our allies disrupted. The president has denigrated the principles of our military and interfered with its leadership, and has seriously hampered efforts to protect our environment.

His systematic disregard for the constitutional principles on which our government is based is more to be expected from a Russian or Middle Eastern autocrat than from an American president. Article II of the Constitution does not confer absolute power on the presidency.

He refuses to acknowledge the testimony of our intelligence experts about evidence of foreign interference with our election processes. Putin is his close friend, and he loves the North Korean dictator.

The recent dismantling of the plan for combating pandemic disease, combined with the haphazard approach to the actual pandemic we are now facing, has to be recognized as evidence of complete incompetence, if not worse.

Finally, the Trumpian inane suggestion to use injections of toxic substances as internal disinfectants against the coronavirus are clearly irrational. The time to replace him has come.

What the hell have we got to lose?
