Program names top youth volunteers

A 12-year-old from Benton and a 17-year-old from El Dorado have been named Arkansas’ top two youth volunteers of 2020 in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards national recognition program.

Braden Lisowe of Benton and Emmaline Landes of El Dorado each received $2,500 to donate to local nonprofit covid-19 response efforts. The funds come in addition to a $1,000 scholarship and engraved silver medallion.

The sixth-grader at Bryant Middle School provided more than 2,000 meals for Arkansas Food Bank clients. The El Dorado High senior raised more than $16,000 for nonprofit agencies and various causes by selling or donating more than 300 pieces of her original artwork.
