CABOT — Othol Paul Kinder,

-

82, of Cabot. Heaven has welcomed home a true servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, Othol Paul Kinder. Now he will not experience any more pain and longing to see his Savior face to face. Our beloved father and cornerstone of our family, peacefully passed away April 24, 2020, surrounded by love and family.

Paul, as his friends knew him, was born August 11, 1937 in Hilleman, Arkansas to the late Othol Carl and Allie DeWitt Kinder. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Cabot. He served as a Deacon with many years of service at Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Mt Carmel Baptist Church of Cabot and lastly at First Baptist Church of Cabot. Paul worked as a Mechanical Engineer Civil Service on the Little Rock Air Force Base, retiring after 34 years of service. In the late 1980’s, Paul and his wife, Oleta, joined the Gideon’s International Association where they continued their lifelong love and service to the Lord. Their service through the Gideon’s took them to speak at many churches on behalf of the Gideon Association, to many school and college campuses with distribution of the Gideon new testaments and to several mission fields where they helped construct schools and churches while sharing their testimony and the good news of the Lord with the communities they were serving. Paul was the loving father of three children, grandfather of six and great-grandfather of five special grandsons. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and camping with his family. He loved being able to travel the country with his wife after they retired.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, Steven Paul Kinder and sister, Mary Ellen Bruckner. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Oleta (Russell) Kinder; son, Michael Wayne Kinder (Debra); daughter, Phyllis Arlene Kinder Underwood (John); daughter-inlaw, Karen Gwen (Mitchell) Kinder-Cara; grandchildren, David, Joshua, Ashley, Devin, Jordan & Kathryn and great-grandchildren, Parker, Eli, Hudson, Kyrian & Thomas Paul.
