ROGERS — Irlon Clinton Hubbard Sr.,

of Rogers, Ark., went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2020, at the age of 90. He was born on July 13, 1929, in Rose Creek, Ark.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Icy Bailey Hubbard, his son,

Clint (Linda) Hubbard, his daughter, Susan (Ron) Henderson, his grandchild­ren: Kathy Bryan, Corey (Michelle) Henderson, Bailey (Larry) Collins, and Ali Henderson. He was the proud great-grandfathe­r of Naomi and Anna Miller, Cameron, Madeline, and Claire Henderson and Aubrey Collins. Special family members are his brother-in-law, Charles Maddox of DeWitt, and two sistersin-law: Polly Simmons of Bella Vista and Marie Hobby of Sherwood. Jim and Cindy Lampton and Rick and Kim Strickland are also dear friends of the family. Irlon was blessed to have many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Minnie Hubbard, his brothers, Millard, Murl, and Danny Hubbard; his sisters Vena Taylor, Mazie Miller, Fay Dilbeck, and Gladys Maddox; and one grandson, Kenny Hubbard.

Irlon spent over 50 years as a Sunday School teacher and was also a deacon in nearly every church in which he was a member. Like many of his siblings, Irlon was a talented musician and could play several instrument­s, but his favorite was the mandolin. Through the years, Irlon belonged to several civic organizati­ons such as Kiwanis and Optimist Clubs, but his favorite was Gideons Internatio­nal. He loved spreading the Good News by passing out Bibles and speaking to churches.

His favorite past time in recent years was attending baseball, softball and soccer games and dance competitio­ns of his precious great-grandchild­ren.

Irlon spent 42 years with Entergy serving in Pine Bluff, Lake Village, Batesville, and Forest City. He entered the workforce at the age of 20 with his mother signing over permission for him to work with electricit­y in the position of lineman. He retired as a district supervisor of operations and had the privilege of being quoted in the book, We Power Life, Entergy’s First Century.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Caleb Gaston at Apex Family Medical Center, Dr. Gregory Oakhill at Highlands Oncology Group, and Dr. Katie Allen at Premier Dermatolog­y for their excellent care over the years.

A graveside service will be held at the Goad Springs Cemetery in Lowell, Ark. on Wednesday, May 6th, 2020 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lowell and Gideons Internatio­nal.
