City takes bronze in biking awards
Little Rock announced Friday that the city has received a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community Award from the League of American Bicyclists.
The nonprofit’s award recognizes communities that create transportation and recreational resources that benefit residents of all ages and abilities while encouraging healthier and more sustainable transportation choices, according to a news release from the city.
In the release, Bill Nasper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists, said more Americans are taking up biking during the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s critical that there are communities like Little Rock taking the steps to make biking a safe, accessible option for people, whether they are commuting to essential jobs or looking for recreational options outside their homes,” Nasper said.
