Cruz’n Car Parade MORRILTON — The Museum of Automobiles will present a car parade in honor of Father’s Day and in appreciation of local health care workers at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Harris Funeral Home, 1325 Oak St., and go by CHI St. Vincent, as well as local nursing homes, before ending at the Museum of Automobiles. There are no registration fees or judging for those who take part in the parade. All makes and models of custom, vintage and classic cars, as well as motorcycles, are welcome. There will be discounted admission of $6 per person at the Museum of Automobiles, 8 Jones Lane, and Kathy’s Kabana food truck will be available. Animal Protection League Golf Tournament
FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Animal Protection League Golf Tournament will take place June 27 at the Indian Hills Golf Resort. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The event will include raffle prizes-50/50 drawing, snacks and drinks, and special events for men and women. Lunch will be provided after play by The Little Red Restaurant. The cost of the four-person scramble is $55 per player or $220 per team.
Independence Day Celebration
FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Marina and H20 Sportz & Marine will present an Independence Day Celebration on July 3 and 4 at the Fairfield Bay Marina, 4350 Arkansas 330 S. On July 3, the Zac Dunlap Band will perform at 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks display at dusk. Activities on July 4 will include a parade at 9:30 a.m., beginning at Fairfield Bay Baptist Church; the Indian Hills Golf Resort’s Red, White and Blue Golf Tournament; and the Fun in the Sun Event at Cool Pool, 155 Chelsea Drive. Fun in the Sun will be an outdoor pool party with lawn games, grilled food and live music. The ShotGunBillys will conclude the activities from 6-8 p.m. on the lake stage. Fireworks Extravaganza
HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Fireworks Extravaganza at 9 p.m. July 4. Because of high lake levels and COVID-19 restrictions, the fireworks will be launched from the Heber Springs Municipal Airport, not at Sandy Beach. Guests will not be allowed on the airport grounds. Information will be provided to help spectators find the best viewing areas in town. To view the fireworks from a boat, the best location is the body of water just west of the Dam Site Marina. HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce has postponed the World Championship Cardboard Boat Races, scheduled for July 25, until next summer. Reasons for the postponement include high lake levels and restrictions required to comply with COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. The boat races will still have a “Video Games” theme in 2021.
