FRIDAY  AUG. 16 Mountains, Music and Motorcycle­s

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Mountains, Music and Motorcycle­s, hosted by the Mountain View Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place Friday through Aug. 16. The annual event offers poker runs, a bike show, biker games, a car show, vendors and multiple free concerts, all centered on the town square. Main Street Batesville Farmers Market

BATESVILLE — The Main Street Batesville Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Pocket Park on Main Street. This is a grower/maker market, meaning all items sold are homegrown or homemade by members of the market who live and work in the community. Fresh, healthful products are available. The market takes place every other Saturday through October. Additional dates include Aug. 29; Sept. 12 and 26; and Oct. 10 and 24.

Ozarka College Fall Registrati­on

MELBOURNE — Ozarka College’s fall 2020 course registrati­on is open for current and prospectiv­e students. The college, which has campus locations in Melbourne, Ash Flat, Mammoth Spring and Mountain View, offers several courses that can be completed fully online. Oktoberfes­t in the Bay Art Walk Participat­ion

FAIRFIELD BAY — Artists are wanted for the Oktoberfes­t in the Bay Art Walk, set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3. Robbie Miller, chairwoman of the event, said artists may rent a 10-by-12-foot booth space for $20 to display and sell their works. Setup will be outside the Fairfield Bay Conference Center. Independen­ce County Library Curbside Service

BATESVILLE — The Independen­ce County Library, 267 E. Main St., will serve its patrons with curbside service for the immediate future from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Library staff is following guidelines from the State Library of Arkansas, which include holding materials in quarantine for six days after they are returned and disinfecti­ng items before returning them to shelves for checkout. Cabot Lions Club Knife Raffle 2020

CABOT — The Cabot Lions Club will raffle off a hand-crafted, custom knife and sheath by Lion Kimm Hunt that is valued at approximat­ely $250. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase exams and eyeglasses for schoolchil­dren and in-need adults; to assist applicants with hearing aids and glaucoma and cataract surgeries; to provide vision screenings; and to support the Cabot Lions Scholarshi­p Fund. Purchase tickets from any Cabot Lions Club member for a donation of $5 each or $20 for five. The drawing will take place Oct. 10 at the Cabot Lions booth at CabotFest.

UPCOMING Cabot Food Truck Frenzy

CABOT — This month’s Food Truck Frenzy will take place from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 20 at Cabot City Hall, 101 N. Second St. The mouthwater­ing lineup planned for this month will be announced soon. As a result of COVID-19 concerns, this event will be for takeaway food only. However, music and other activities will occur while customers wait for their food. All participan­ts are asked to wear masks.

Leadership Searcy Applicatio­n Deadline

SEARCY — The deadline to apply for the 2020/21 Leadership Searcy class is Aug. 27. The program recruits highly motivated individual­s to attend a series of eight full-day sessions to focus on issues, people and opportunit­ies for leadership from September through May, typically on the second Tuesday of the month.
