STUTTGART — Raymond D. Stewart,

-

aged 88, was called to Heaven August 15,2020. He was born to Quentin and Minna Stewart, youngest of three brothers in Little Rock, Ark.

His father died when he was two years old, so he spent his early years learning from his grandparents and uncle and his mother who worked in the Little Rock Library system. Raymond graduated Central High School and soon entered the service to serve in Korea during the Korean War. He married Barbara Shelton and had three daughters. They were part of a Rose City neighborhood in North Little Rock and were long time members of Calvary Baptist Church. He served as deacon and Sunday School

Teacher and made many life long friends who continue to this day. Patrick, Virgil, Vaughn, Clovis, Juanita, Peggy, Cottingham, and others. We thank you for your friendship and care.

Raymond retired from Texas Eastern Pipeline (later Duke Energy) and moved to Wilcox Acres on the White River. He loved turkey, squirrel, and deer hunting. He also loved net fishing and making a garden. He shared his joy in these activities with neighbors and friends at the river, we love you.

After his wife Barbara’s passing he married Maurine Orlicek and lived in Stuttgart, still maintaining his river house and many friends.

He was a proud member of Southside Baptist Church, never missing assembling his family in church. He loved reading his Bible daily and quoted verses often. He was truly a “man’s man” who loved his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Connie; and two brothers, Quentin Jr. and Richard Stewart. He is survived by daughters Brenda Stewart and Angie Stewart both of Nashville; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is also survived by his adopted family Darren, Tricia, Haley, Van, Dylan, Russ, Fran, Cheney, Marlis (deceased), Nell, Vernon, Gwen, and Donald.

We all spent many hours together during 18 years with Sunday dinners, vacations, and watching the grandkids grow.

We thank the Hospice Home Care Pine Bluff team and Michal Johnson for your love and support.

We’ll miss you R.D., also known as “Dynamite”.

A graveside service at Lone Tree Cemetery will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, August 19th by Turpin Funeral Home with burial following in Shiloh Cemetery. Viewing will be 8-1 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
