BENTON — Doris Helen Batt Earp,

82, of Terrell, Texas, formerly of Benton, Ark., passed away August 16, 2020. She was born April 21, 1938, in Los Angeles, Calif., to the late Woodrow and Grace (Perry) Batt.

Doris was the most Godly, loving woman and loved everyone she met. The highlight of her week was taking her family to church. She was a part of every prayer chain in Saline County. She was a prayer warrior and had a special gift in touching God. Doris volunteere­d in many different areas in the churches she attended including playing the piano, visiting families and shut ins, and was an ordained minister. She was devoted to her family and was known as a “scrapper” back in the day for protecting her family fiercely. Doris enjoyed spending time playing card games, especially Uno, Skip Bo, and Phase 10, with people she loved. She graduated from Benton High School in 1974 and received her Associates Degree at the age of fifty. Doris worked in accounting, was a music teacher, and drove the bus for Civitan Center. She was an incredible homemaker and cook. She was well-known for her Hocus Pocus rolls.

Preceding Doris in death are her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Curtis Earp, Sr.; three children, Rebecca, Joseph, and Josiah; parents; great-grandson, Hunter; sister, Mollie; and brother, Edward.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: children, Curtis Earp, Jr. and wife Kim of Benton, daughter, Sissie Earp of Houston, Texas, son, Wyatt Earp and wife Melissa of Romance, Ark., son, Michael Earp of Benton, Ark., son, Wade Earp and partner Jonathan of Terrell, Texas, son, David Earp and wife Nancie of Alexander, Ark.; grandchild­ren: Bryant, Chase, Amy, Emma Grace, John, Shawn, Jason, Brett, Brandie, Randie, T.J., Christina, Dallas, Morgan, Brandie, Andrew, Jenifer, Donna, Taylor, Matthew, Lucas, and Ashley; great-grandchild­ren: Lilly Grace, Nova, Marley Lynn, Preston, Jaden, Evalyn, Johnetta, Jania, Ethan, Mikey, Aubriana, Tyus, Oliver, Kelsey, Victor, Brinlee, Lydia, Bree, Ethan, Karter, Kaden, Bishop, Avery, James, Charles, Evert, Faith, Anthony, Tristin, Montana; great-great grandchild­ren: Anita, Bradley, and Colton; brothers: Dennis “Buddy” Batt and Tommy Batt and his wife Ann; and many more family members and friends who dearly love Doris and will miss her always.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 21, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Ark. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 22, at First Assembly of God in Benton, Ark. Burial following at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery. Services entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home.
