CABOT — Marcia Dolores (Dee) Corren,

-

age 81, died peacefully in her home on August 18, 2020. She was born in Indianola, Miss., on February 25, 1939, to Elsie Hardy Fox and Lillie Mae Fox. She graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Miss., in 1957.

Dee, as she was known to family and friends, was a dedicated employee of Southwestern Bell for 18 years where she made many lifelong friends. After taking early retirement from SW Bell, she moved to Hawaii with her husband, SGT MGR Sherman B. Corren as he began his last tour of military service. They enjoyed three years in Hawaii, especially when family and friends visited.

Dee began a second career with the Corps of Engineers, Operations Division when she returned to Arkansas where she worked for 23 years until her retirement in March 2008.

Dee was an avid lifelong Razorback fan from the time she first moved to her adopted State of Arkansas. She and Sherman loved going to all the football games and especially traveling in their motorhome to Fayetteville and to out-of-state games. She was a contributor to the Razorback Foundation for nearly 50 years. She firmly believed in “Win, Lose, or Draw, I’m for Arkansas!” regardless of who the head coach might be. She was elated when her first born attended and matriculated from her beloved home of the Razorbacks, the U of A. Decades later she enjoyed visiting, tailgating and “Calling the Hogs” with three of her grandkids that also attended and graduated from the U of A.

Dee was a true shopaholic and would spend hours searching to find the perfect gift for family and friends for their birthdays and Christmas. Dee loved to read the newspaper daily from cover to cover while drinking her coffee in her favorite recliner with her beloved dog, Dixie at her feet for as long as she could.

Dee was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward MA Brewer of Poteau, Okla.; two brothers, George Robert Fox and Richard Fox of Greenville, Miss.; and her loving mother, Lillie Mae Fox of Cabot, Ark.

Dee is survived by her husband, SGT MJR Sherman B. Corren; son, Alex Corren of Little Rock; daughter, Sheryl Brewer Jackson (James Howell) of Maumelle; son, Keith Edward Brewer (Wendy) of Little Rock; and daughter, Pamela Kaye Brewer of North Little Rock.

Dee became “Dee Dee” when she was blessed with her grandchildren, Christopher (Jacquelyn) Brewer of Bartlett, Tenn., Callie (Mike) Slider of Maumelle, Adam Jackson of Maumelle, and Kyle Jackson of Conway. Dee Dee was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Rose, Jackson, Luna, and James. Dee was always full of cheer and shared an infectious smile with everyone. She lived life to the fullest and did life her way as her favorite Frank Sinatra sang about. She will be greatly missed by her husband and family until God reunites us. We love you Dee Dee.
