ENGLAND — Anne Needham of England,

Ark., went to be with her heavenly Father on September 14, 2020. She was born February 11, 1922, in Danville, Tenn., to Joe S. and Betty Whitney Hendon. She attended Poplar Grove School near Dyer. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory for several years before attending beauty college, later opening her own salon in Dyer. She was an active member of Dyer Assembly of God for many years; helped in the start-up of the Humboldt Assembly of God church and later a member and pianist for the Rutherford Assembly of God Church before moving to Arkansas. She was pianist for England Assembly of God for a short time. She was known in England as the ‘peanut brittle lady’.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Andrew Watson and Jim Needham; two brothers, Freeman and Prentous Hendon; three sisters, Mabel Chamberlai­n, Roberta Barron and Jessie Poynor.

She was always ready to tell everyone about her Lord and Savior. A special thanks to Cavalier Healthcare and Hospice for the care they provided.

She is survived by her daughter, Retha Hankins; grandson, David Hankins; granddaugh­ter Susie (Tommy) Clement; three great-grandchild­ren, Katie (Vince) Marchese, Hollis (Caragh) Hankins and Samantha Hankins, Chris (Nicolet) Clement; three great-great-grandchild­ren, Addisyn and Emma Marchese, Colleen Hankins; nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Needham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Assembly of God, 608 E. Fordyce, England, Ark. 72046 or the charity of their choice. Graveside services will be held at Mulberry Cemetery on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at 3 p.m., with Logan Fullerton officiatin­g. Cremation arrangemen­ts are through Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visiting attendance to 50 people at one time.
