passed away in Little Rock, Ark., on October 28, 2020.

He was born March 16, 1970 in Little Rock, Ark., and was raised in Augusta, Ark., where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He graduated from Harding Academy in Searcy, Ark., and played quarterbac­k for his Wildcats team. David attended the University of Arkansas in Fayettevil­le, and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. After college, David completed an internship for Walt Disney World in Orlando. Later, he earned his real estate appraiser license and establishe­d Whitehead and Associates, Real Estate Appraisals Inc. in Little Rock.

David was known for his witty perspectiv­e, great sense of humor and thirst for knowledge, especially music. He was a naturally gifted guitar player with extraordin­ary feeling. His depth of knowledge and passion for music history was amazing. He loved all genres of music, especially the blues and his beloved Eric Clapton. His hobbies included fly fishing and traveling to the many rivers in Arkansas and other parts of the U.S. As a talented athlete, he loved the outdoors and mastered snow skiing and water skiing at a very young age.

David had an extraordin­ary spirit and kind heart and just made you feel loved and cared for. All animals had a soft spot in David’s heart, especially his well loved Boxer rescue dogs who left this earth before him; Layla, Tupelo and Lola. David will forever be missed.

He is preceded in death by his father. Daniel Moody Whitehead, and paternal grandparen­ts, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Moody Whitehead Sr. of Augusta, and maternal grandparen­ts, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Shaw of Little Rock.

David is survived by his mother, Ann Shaw Whitehead; sister, Rebecca Benton (Talbot); nephew and niece, Henry and Annabelle Benton (who affectiona­tely called him “Uncle Davo”); and a host of family and friends who will miss him always.
