JONESBORO — Etta Emogene Houston, 90,

of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro. Emogene was born January 23, 1930 in Harrisburg to the late Ralph and Clara Gipson Stanford. She was the former owner/operator of Sonic Drive-In in Pocahontas. She was a lifelong member of Witt’s Chapel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. F. Houston; sons, John Houston and Keith Houston; grandsons, Elvis Pierce Jr and Fulton Houston; siblings, Wanda Roberts, Sue Privett, W.R. Stanford and Joyce Owens.

Emogene is survived by children, Brenda Pierce of Jonesboro, Judy Houston of Maynard, Tammy Hill of Bryant and Stephanie Chamberlin of Little Rock; grandchild­ren, Heather (Steven) Smallman of Jonesboro, Brian Houston, Natalie Houston, and Jason Houston of Omaha, Neb., Amanda (Kevin) Smith of McKinney, Texas, Kimberly (Josh) Der of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Anthony Houston of Maynard, Gary (Terrie) Houston of Jonesboro, Tarah (Brandon) Johnson of Fayettevil­le, Tyler (Amber) Hill of Bryant, Hayden Angel of Bryant and Houston Angel of Little Rock; great-grandchild­ren, Kaleb, Alexis, Magan, Cali, Nicole, Stefan, Kelsey, Kaden, Kerrigan, Jeremiah, Karis, Jacie, Aiden, Eretria, Aurora and Aria; greatgreat grandchild­ren, Addilynn and Fulton; siblings, Mary (Roy) Tindell of Piedmont, Mo., Carolyn (Larry) Kissee of Ash Flat, Kenny (Trish) Stanford of Nettleton, MS and Michael Stanford of Hardy.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 13, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. – 1 p.m. with the funeral at 1 p.m. in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Hassel officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens. Pallbearer­s include: Houston Angel, Tyler Hill, Randall Stanford, Steven Smallman, Kaleb Smallman and Gary Houston.
