UCA hires director of Arkansas Coding Academy
CONWAY — The Arkansas Coding Academy, a program of the Division of Outreach and Community Engagement at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, has named Alison Wish as its new director.
Wish brings more than 20 years of experience in information technology to this role. As director, Wish will oversee the administration and everyday operations of the program and will continue to expand the training curriculum to meet the growing workforce demands in the information technology sector. Her first day in her new position was Dec. 1.
“We are delighted to have Alison leading the Arkansas Coding Academy,” said Shaneil Ealy, associate vice president for the UCA Division of Outreach and Community Engagement. “She brings a depth of experience and technical expertise that will be an invaluable asset to the program.”
Wish earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer and information science from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville before beginning her career as a software engineer at Acxiom. Over the years, Wish has worked in solution architecture and leadership positions. Most recently, in her role as senior manager of delivery, she oversaw an organization of more than 30 technical data architects across the United States and Poland.

Established in 2016, the Arkansas Coding Academy at UCA strives to create a talent pipeline from the classroom to the workforce for individuals seeking careers in programming, information technology or software development. The academy seeks to equip students with the skills needed to gain employment and succeed in the information technology sector. Classes are offered throughout the year in various formats to fit students’ needs.
