94, of Jacksonvil­le, Ark. passed from this life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. He was born December 17, 1926 in Booneville to Claude and Ethel (Sugg) Oliver.

He was retired from the Western Electric as a Telephone installer. He was a 32nd Mason, 33rd Majestic Lodge, and a Shriner. He was a veteran of WW II and Korean War and a member of the DAV. He helped start the union for Western Electric Telephone in North Little Rock. James was a philanthro­pist as well he donated to many many charities and people and he loved that. He was also a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church and the Arkansas Telephone pioneers.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Hilda Oliver; two sons, Joe and Richard Oliver; brother, Sam Oliver and his parents before mentioned.

Due to COVID 19, no service will be held. Burial will be in Carolan Cemetery near Booneville, Ark., under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

He is survived by his life partner, Imogene Hendrix of Conway, Ark.; daughter, Jill Oliver of Jacksonvil­le; two nephews, Sammy and Kenny Oliver; two grandchild­ren, Dakota (Cory) and Josie; and one great grandchild, Rori.
