WARREN — Dale Lee Wolfe,

-

age 77, of Warren, Ark., passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

He was born on December 15, 1943, in Alexandria, La., and was the eldest son of the late Howard and Ivy Wolfe.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Henry Wolfe. Dale joined the U.S. Army Reserves in July, 1965, after graduating from Southern State College with a degree in accounting. He went on to graduate from the Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., and was commissioned in 1967. He served ten months in Operation Desert Storm where his unit was responsible for theater level supply management. His Army Reserve career spanned 27 years, and he retired as a Lt. Colonel and Bronze Star recipient.

Dale began his work career as a cost accountant for International Paper in Springhill, La. In 1973, he joined Potlatch Corporation in Warren, Ark. His Potlatch career spanned 27 years, where he would occupy many positions, including credit manager and accounting supervisor. He took early retirement from Potlatch in 2000 and went on to work another seven years as a credit collection consultant for National Wire Fabric in Star City, Ark. He was an avid hobbyist, tinkerer, woodworker, and proud owner of a fully restored 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air. He enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes for over 35 years. He was an excellent marksman and spent many enjoyable weekends at the Warren Shooting Sports Complex.

Dale had a gift for leadership and a heart for community service. He served many years as a deacon at First Assembly of God Church, as president of the Warren Lions Club, president of his radio controlled airplane club in Monticello, and Chairman of the Board of the Warren Arkansas Superior Federal Credit Union. His most important role, though, was as a faithful, adoring husband, loving and wise father, and dear friend and confidant to many. He touched us with his special brand of humor and many acts of service. When someone needed encouragement, he gave it. If something was broken, he used his genius mechanical skills to fix it. Always one to lift others up, he never missed a chance to pay a sincere compliment and was always willing to share his wisdom with those needing a little advice. In all these ways and more, Dale Wolfe made the world a little brighter. He will be deeply missed and remembered with all our love and respect. If he had the chance to share one last piece of advice, he would say, “You will never regret doing the right thing.”

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Burson Wolfe, his children, Sheila Lovelace and spouse, Alan, Stillwater, Okla.; Leslie Hardin and spouse, Dr. Shane Hardin, Hot Springs, Ark.; and son, Jonathan Wolfe and spouse Julia, Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Daniel, Nathan, and Elizabeth Lovelace; and Sophia and Lilly Hardin. Dale is also survived by one sister, Pamela Ann Blann of Magnolia, Ark., and one brother, Carroll Wolfe, and spouse Anna Beth of White Hall, Ark.

Funeral services will be at First Assembly of God Church in Warren, 2 p.m., Friday, February 26, with Rev. Jim Bales officiating. Masks required. Visitation 12:30 p.m., till service time Friday, at First Assembly of God Church.
