BATESVILLE — The Batesville Advertisin­g & Promotions Commission will provide First Impression­s: Guest Service Training from noon to 1 p.m. in Rooms C and D of the Batesville Community Center. Focus areas will include first impression­s, customer service, angry customers, body language, phone etiquette and knowledge of local attraction­s. The free session, which will include lunch and a certificat­e of completion, is hosted by The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce. Ozarka Scholarshi­p Deadline

MELBOURNE — Thursday is the deadline for current Ozarka students or high school seniors to apply for scholarshi­ps for the 2021 fall semester at Ozarka College. All applicants must complete the college’s admissions applicatio­n, online or in person at any Ozarka College location. Ozarka offers several institutio­nal scholarshi­ps and more than 50 foundation scholarshi­ps. To apply, students must be enrolled full time and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0. Applicatio­ns are available to students when logging into their myOzarka account. Deborah Person Memorial Nursing Scholarshi­p Deadline

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Thursday is the deadline to apply for a Deborah Person Memorial Nursing Scholarshi­p at Ozarka College Mountain View. Person, who was an Ozarka College-Mountain View Nursing alum and a licensed practical nurse, died Dec. 20, 2020. Priority will be given to applicants who are starting a second career, who have worked as a certified nursing assistant for a minimum of 1 1/2 years or who are single mothers. BATESVILLE — Everyone is invited to take a step toward better health by participat­ing in a free 60-minute Walk With the Doc at 10 a.m. the third Saturday of every month. After Birds Exhibit

BATESVILLE — The Batesville Area Arts Council presents After Birds, an exhibition by Ian Campbell, at the BAAC Gallery on Main, 226 E. Main St., through April 17. Campbell is an assistant professor of art at Lyon College. After Birds is an ongoing series of infrared photograph­s documentin­g the habitats of extinct, endangered and disappeari­ng species of American birds. The exhibit is open during BAAC’s regular gallery hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Veterans Food Pantry

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The Veterans Villages Helping Hand Program Food Pantry, 8325 MacArthur Drive, serves all veterans, as well as activeduty, Guard and Reserve service members and their families in Pulaski and White counties. The food pantry will be open from 8 a.m. to noon every other Wednesday, including April 7. Painting Classes

BATESVILLE — Two continuing painting classes take place at Gallery 246, at 246 E. Main St. A watercolor class, taught by Aline McCracken, meets from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays.
