WYNNE — Betty Jean Dunlap Argo,

passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. She was born August 5, 1929, to Bessie and Ira Dunlap of Dresden, Tenn. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Fred (Bill) Argo, son, Thomas Edward (Tommy) Argo, and son-in-law, Field Wasson. She is survived by her children, Mike and Dodie Argo of Conway, Janice Cranford of Little Rock, Nancy Wasson of Little Rock, and Fred and Beth Argo of Jonesboro. Betty will be fondly remembered as ‘Granny’ by her grandchild­ren and their families, Jessica Totty, Angela Sewell, Matt Argo, Adam Argo, Hayley Argo McAlvey, Hope Argo Degroat, Marcus Cranford, Cara Garrison, Bonnie Argo, Kindley Wasson, and Liz Wasson. She also leaves behind many great-grandchild­ren whom she loved and adored. Betty and Bill owned Argo Pharmacy in Wynne, Arkansas, for several years. They enjoyed golfing together and playing bridge and cribbage. Betty also loved gardening and cooking for her family. She will be remembered by her sense of humor and kind heart.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9, at Wynne Baptist Church, 1200 Bridges Ave. Visitation is from 1–2 p.m., with the service at 2 p.m., Burial to follow at Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Wynne Baptist Church, P. O. Box 874, Wynne, Arkansas, 72396, or the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n of Arkansas.
