New warning on Boeing’s Max

-

Boeing shares slipped after the commercial aircraft maker warned 16 customers, including the world’s largest low-cost airline, to stop flying its

737 Max planes until they address a possible electrical problem with the jet.

Chicago-based Boeing didn’t say how many aircraft were involved. Southwest Airlines, Boeing’s biggest customer for the 737 Max, said it removed 30 of the planes from its schedule.

The Max was grounded worldwide in March 2019 after two crashes killed 346 people. Regulators in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Brazil and other countries cleared the plane to resume flying after Boeing changed an automated flight-control system that played a role in the crashes.

Boeing said it’s working closely with the Federal Aviation Administration on the electrical matter.
