NOTEWORTHY Has coached nine All-SEC running backs and 11 different 1,000-yard rushers. … Played a key role in keeping together Arkansas’ largely in-state recruiting class of 2008, which went 21-5 in 2010-11, and qualified for its only BCS bowl berth in 2010 and won the Cotton Bowl after the 2011 season. … Coached four running backs between 2013-17 who led the SEC in rushing. … At Auburn in 2017, he became the first man in SEC history to coach the SEC offensive player of the year (Kerryon Johnson) and the SEC special teams player of the year (Daniel Carlson) in the same season. … Two-time all-state running back and track standout at Conway while his father, Harold, was racking up a 74-12-5 head coaching record at UCA. … Two-time academic all-SWC performer and second-team All-SWC (1989). … Arkansas team captain in 1989 on team that won back-to-back Southwest Conference crowns and finished with a 38-11 record, the best four-year mark in school history. … Had 23 catches for 453 yards as a senior.
