CAMDEN — Carol Jenice (Barnes) Bronni, 71,

passed away on April 5, 2021. Carol was a loving wife, grandmothe­r, mother, teacher, and friend to many. Carol was born on March 10, 1950, in Wyandotte, Mich., to the late James William ‘Nick’ Barnes and Evelyn Hardin Barnes. She grew up in Wayne County, Mich., and graduated from Southgate Anderson High School.

She married her husband, Gary Alfred Bronni, on July 12, 1980, and shortly thereafter, they moved to Houston, Texas. She and Gary later moved to Camden, Ark. After raising two children, Carol returned to school and earned her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Henderson State University in 1996. She taught at Hampton Elementary in Calhoun County, Ark., for 15 years. It was her dream job, and she enjoyed every minute of it.

Carol was preceded in death by her younger sister, Joan Gail (Barnes) Manasco. She is survived by Gary, her husband of 40 years. Other surviving family members include their two sons, Nicholas Jacob Bronni (Sarah Tumlin Bronni) of Little Rock, Ark., and Ryan Jameson Bronni (Jessica McClellan Bronni) of Prairie Grove, Ark.; and three grandchild­ren, Benjamin Alexander (Ryan), Margaret Cecily (Nicholas), and Frederick Augustus (Nicholas).

Carol had a passion for her family. She was an avid baker and never missed an opportunit­y to design a unique cake for a family gathering. She was a member of Victory Church in Camden, loved God, and read her Bible daily. Carol always looked forward to family gatherings, especially family birthdays, Thanksgivi­ng, and Christmas. Affectiona­tely known as “Oma” (German for “grandmothe­r”), she never missed an opportunit­y to spend time with her grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be at Benton County Memorial Park, in Rogers, Ark., between noon and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13. Funeral services for Carol will be held at the same location immediatel­y after visitation. Flowers or condolence­s may be sent to the Benton County Memorial Park.
