BENTON — Richard Dennis Hughes of Benton, Ark.,

died Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Richard is survived by his children, Dr. Hal Hughes (Becky) of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Julie Hughes (Dr. Mark Lawson) of Ithaca, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Dawson and Sophia Hughes, and Brennan, Isaac, and Ava Lawson-Hughes. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Bonnie Shearer-Hughes; parents, Doris (Edwards) and Walter Hughes; sisters, Helen Bland and Margaret Leake; brother, George Hughes; and the mother of his children, LaDonna McCormack.
