Counting chicks after they hatch

Jackson Barber, 13, counts chicks Friday at the Lonoke County Fairgrounds as he takes part in the Cooperative Extension Service’s Arkansas Poultry Chain Project, which provided 25,000 chicks to be raised by 4-H’ers. The poultry will be cared for until the fall, when participants will take their best birds to the State Fair competition.
