SHARING WISDOM

-

After graduating from the Clinton School of Public Service in May 2019, Connor Donovan developed a way to help other up-and-comers start their careers by launching Me. Mentor, an online platform that connects students and young professionals with mentors who can provide education and career support.

“Mentorship is so important,” he said. “We all have something valuable to contribute to this world, but sometimes we just need a little encouragement and direction from someone who cares in order to realize it.”

He added that he envisioned the concept for Me. Mentor several years before he began putting the idea on paper in November 2019. He first identified the need when he noticed other students and young adults who were unaware of opportunities available to them and did not have anyone who could provide them with support.

“It was important to me that mentors reflected the diverse people in our communities, as well as the diverse education and career routes one could take in life,” he said.

The platform had its soft launch in December, and Donovan said he hopes to expand the number of mentors this year.

“I envision our platform becoming accessible to mentors and mentees across the United States,” he said. “I want to help students and young adults see that we all have something valuable to contribute to the world and that, regardless of the path we take in life, we can all end up in a place where we are fulfilled and living comfortably.”
