HARRISON — Albert H. Raney, Jr.,

82, a resident of Harrison, died Saturday, May 8th at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Ark.

He was born June 1, 1938, in Marble Falls, Ark., the youngest son of Albert H. Raney, Sr. and Ecy Elizabeth (Stricklin) Raney. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Earl Raney and Gene Raney; and his sisters, Mary Alice DeVito and Galena McCaleb.

After graduating from Harrison High School, Albert attended Arkansas Tech University. He married Carolyn Jo Murphy on February 1, 1958. He was a certified Zenith electronic­s repairman and owned and operated Raney’s TV Service for many years. Albert was devoted to his wife and family and always put the needs of others before his own. He loved fishing, traveling, and in recent years spending time with Carolyn at the Senior Club playing Bingo and listening to music. He and Carolyn instilled a love of travel and adventure in their children by taking them on many memorable trips across the country. He was a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church.

He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, wife of 63 years, Carolyn J. (Murphy) Raney; his children, Bruce W. (Cheryl) Raney of Rogers, Suzette J. Raney of Chattanoog­a, Temm., David A. Raney of Harrison, Dr. Kevin D. (Veronica) Raney of Little Rock, Maribeth (John) O’Dell of Harrison, Dr. Michael J. (Sharon) Raney of St. Louis, Mo., Dr. Jerel L. (Amanda) Raney of Shreveport, La.; his grandsons, Ben (Victoria) Raney, Colton Pace, Alex (Stephanie) Raney, David A. Raney II, Thomas Raney, Brandon Raney, Jonathon Raney, Trey O’Dell, Matthew Raney, and William Raney; his granddaugh­ters, Katie (Lucas) Hulsey, Bailey Pace, Kristen Raney, Kimberly (Richard) Benson, Marci (Mark) Polett, Brenna Raney, and Breanne O’Dell; his great-grandchild­ren, Miri and Jonah Hulsey, Kian and Luka Polett, and Lily and Miles Benson.
