PIGGOTT — Mrs. Mary Lou Knipple,

94, of Piggott, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born May 14, 1927 in Blythevill­e, Ark., to Archie & Onie Lovelace. A lifelong resident of Blythevill­e until moving to Piggott, Ark. six years ago, Mary Lou was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church in Blythevill­e and later enjoyed worshippin­g with Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott. She retired as Office Manager at Montgomery Ward after a long career at the retailer. Her active membership­s at the Senior Citizens Center and the Town & Country Extension Club provided years of friendship and enjoyment. She was also an active volunteer in the Mississipp­i County Hospital gift shop in Blythevill­e for several years. Mary Lou shared her favorite pastimes of fishing, crocheting, sewing, quilting, & crafting with family & friends. All of her children and grandchild­ren received numerous quilts, crocheted items, and special handmade gifts from her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Robert Earl; four sisters, Helen Perkins, Yvonne Zakrewski, Pearl Lewis, Louise Moore; and a brother, Roy Lovelace. She is survived by four siblings, May Keefe, Betty Sue McGee, Shirley White, and Wayne Lovelace; three children, Penny Veal (Bill) of Piggott, Ark.; Susan Russell (Terry) of Russellvil­le, Ark.; Richard Knipple (Cindy) of Centerton, Ark.; five grandchild­ren; and nine great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be held at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, Friday June 25th at 4 p.m. with Reverend Kevin Murray of Piggott and Reverend Justin Myrick of Russellvil­le officiatin­g. Visitation will be held Thursday June 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolence­s to the family can be made at www.cobbfunera­lhome.com.
